Opel Ireland today (Wednesday, 18th November 2015) launched the 2015 Opel GAA/GPA All-Stars jersey in support of the Childhood Cancer Foundation, with the help of Opel Players of the Year, Jack McCaffrey (Dublin) and TJ Reid (Kilkenny).

Opel Ireland Managing Director Dave Sheeran, along with the two Players of the Year were joined by a group of young people suffering from cancer, to launch the kit in Croke Park.

The 2015 Opel All-Stars jersey will carry the CCF (Childhood Cancer Foundation) ribbon logo on the sleeve, while a percentage of all jersey sales will be donated to the Foundation by Opel and jersey manufacturers O’Neills.

CCF are already established partners of the Gaelic Players Association and will now be supported by long-time All-Stars sponsors Opel – through the All-Stars jersey initiative, strengthening their relationship with county hurlers and footballers.

Speaking at the launch, Opel Ireland Managing Director Dave Sheeran said: “As the official car partner of the GPA we are honored to have the opportunity to support this worthy cause and to use this platform to help raise awareness for childhood cancer. Every family and home in Ireland has been affected in some way by cancer, and we’re delighted to be able to throw a spotlight on the brave children battling this illness, in the hopes of raising vital funds for the charity. We are looking forward to working with the charity and encourage fans to pick up their 2015 Opel GAA/GPA All-Stars jersey, in support of the Childhood Cancer Foundation.”

Mary Claire Rennick of the Childhood Cancer Foundation added: “We are absolutely delighted that Opel are lending their support to Ireland’s fight against childhood cancer. The connection with players through the GPA and the backing of the GAA community as a whole has been a wonderful way for CCF to convey its message publicly and this support from Opel strengthens this bond considerably. Families with children battling cancer face unique challenges and this initiative will help us to raise important funds for the organisations supporting them and raise awareness of their circumstances. Thanks also to O’Neills for the donation from every All-Star jersey sold.”

The newly designed 2015 Opel GAA/GPA All-Stars jerseys are now on sale from O’Neill’s.
