noun, 1. A place for entertaining. Is commonly used to refer to a room in ancient times, devoted to the arts. Where a convivial gathering or drinking and dining party takes place.

 

Ceol, Act I for Magistorium

 

Magistorium’s first offering, Ceol launches this evening (Thursday 27th October 2016) behind the blue door of number 22, South Anne Street, Dublin 2. Reincarnated from the old energies of McGonagles and The Crystal Ballroom, Magistorium will host eclectic performances and cultural events whilst offering guests the option to feast and drink as they’re being entertained.

 

Ceol will be a weekly event featuring the best of Irish traditional musicians and singers. Kicking off next Thursday the 3rd of November with a much-anticipated performance from Stockton’s Wing, which will feature original performers of 1982 hit single ‘Beautiful Affair’, Mike Hanrahan, Paul Roche, Steve Cooney and Tommy Hayes. They will be joined on-stage by Clare musicians Tara Breen on fiddle, and Karol Lynch on banjo and mandolin. It is set to be an electric performance that is not to be missed.

 

Guests have the opportunity to experience the first ever Magistorium show with tickets for dinner and show priced at €55 or tickets for the show only at €25. Doors open at 7pm with live performance to start at 9:30pm.

Café Society

The wrong place for the right people!

Every Saturday night, from 9:30pm ‘til late.

 

1922 …The Tempo of the city had changed …. the buildings were higher, the parties were bigger, the morals were looser and the liquor was cheaper.

 

A new late night entertainment and dining experience set back in 1922’s New York.

 

From Saturday 12th of November, guests can get the full Cafe Society experience every Saturday night, with doors open form 9:30pm ’til late. The dining package is available for €65 which includes a three course a la Carte menu plus the show, or €30 for show only.

 

-ACT III-

Jazz Roast

Every Sunday, from 12-4pm

 

Jazz Roast will be a weekly event from 12-4pm featuring the best of funky jazz, multiculturalism, contemporary and big band sounds. Every Sunday, Magistorium will also serve you a menu of modern Irish cuisine that will be a fusion of both brunch and roast menus.

 

Sunday the 6th of November will see the very first Jazz Roast take place with a performance of ‘The Whistling Girl’ by acclaimed Irish jazz singer Honor Heffernan and composer Trevor Knight. The Irish duo will proudly present their new Cabaret/Speakeasy-style show featuring musical settings of the poetry of the great American wit, civil rights activist and author Dorothy Parker.

 

Guests have the opportunity to get the full Jazz Roast experience ‘show for only €35 which will allow guests the choice of a main, a dessert and the show. Or just €18 for the show only.
